Here in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland (LLR), we are innovatively transforming our ways of working with people with relational and emotional difficulties. As part of this, we have been awarded funding from the Integrated Care Board to develop a hub to support Primary Care and the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise sector (VCSE).
This hub will promote psychologically- and trauma-informed ways of working and develop peer support initiatives. We are keen for a Principal Psychologist to work with us to develop this hub. The role will offer an exciting opportunity to imaginatively use psychological skills to lead innovate changes in ways in which we foster emotional and relational wellbeing in our LLR communities.
Working as a psychologist in Leicestershire Partnership Trust The Trust has a substantial service structure with psychologists in lead roles including at directorate level. We have psychologists as pathway leads for complex trauma, psychosis, and personality disorders, who are supported by psychologists at every grade. There are therefore clear career paths for psychologists who join us and we are committed to your development through training and supervision.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be part of a larger psychologically-led pathway for people with emotional and relational needs. This pathway has over 30 staff, including Psychologists, a Medical Psychotherapist, Peer Support Workers, and Mental Health Practitioners.
You will work with the Consultant Psychologist/Pathway Lead to develop the new Primary Care/VCSE Hub and offer day-to-day leadership. You will be responsible for delivering a psychologically-informed training and consultation/supervision offer, co-developing innovative approaches to increase psychological awareness and management of emotional and relational difficulties in communities, and working with an expert by experience lead to develop peer-led initiatives. We are working with other NHS organisations to create a network to support our development of the hub and we hope to co-produce evaluations of our innovative approaches, within which you will play a key role.
You will also have the opportunity to work clinically within secondary care provision for people with relational and emotional needs, depending on your interests. We will support you with opportunities for further development through internal and external training programmes. We have strong links to the University of Leicester and you can be involved in teaching, trainee placements, and input to the development of the curriculum.
