An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Registered Professional Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapist to join the Mental Health Central Access Point based at Anstey Frith Building County Hall. The key skills for this role will be the ability to demonstrate excellent ongoing assessment, problem solving and risk assessment skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently.

You will receive support both emotional and for your ongoing continuing professional development. We have regular one to ones where you can be frank, open and honest about matters affecting you and your work

As part of the team, you will work collaboratively with Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, OTs and others. The collective support and knowledge is there to enable you to do your work.

Main duties of the job

The Role of a Band 6 Mental Health Central Access Point is to co-ordinate and provide specialist telephone assessments, interventions and expertise to services users in crisis 24/7 per 52 weeks per year over the phone in the community team.

The successful candidate will collect, collate and fully accurately report patient information, maintaining accurate complete and contemporaneous nursing records in line with NMC / HCPC and Trust standards, involving clients/service users and carers / relatives in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care.

The role will include co ordinating shift working in partnership with Turning Point recovery workers who will need your support and expertise. Working collaboratively to maintain effective communication as a multi-disciplinary team member and with other professionals/agencies to ensure needs are.

The role is dynamic and requires specialist assessment of risk, the Mental Health Central Access Point is a professional and diverse team to work with and will provide you with lots of experience across the acute sector.
