Job summary
We are looking for motivated, proactive, enthusiastic, and compassionate professionals to be part of our well-established specialist CAMHS community multi-disciplinary team.
The post is suitable for newly qualified practitioners, and you will be able to complete your preceptorship in post and the team will offer enhanced supervision and training to support you in your new role.
The CAMHS Community service is continually developing and exploring ways to increase clinical expertise to offer a wider range of therapies.
To meet the needs of the children, young people, and their families, we will offer training to ensure staff are skilled to a standard. We are also able to offer a rolling training programme for all staff.
The candidate should have a good understanding of mental health needs, have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and organised and adopt a reflective and flexible approach to working with children and young people and the systems around them (parents, carers, school etc.).

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing evidence-based care with children, young people, and their families, under the guidance of your supervisor and the clinical team, that align with local and national guidelines. This includes information, support, signposting, and advice about managing mental health.
- The post holder will be responsible for providing evidence based mental health interventions for children, young people, and their families, up to 18 years.
- Work within an MDT setting
- Risk assess and plan care for young people
- Promoting and participating in group work intervention.
- Work collaboratively, and promote effective working relationships, with members of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective clinical decision-making, internally and with external agencies.
