Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit a professional, customer focused and responsive Senior HR Business Partner to join our team. You will be supporting our Directorate of Community Health Services and enabling them to adapt to the changing expectations and needs of the NHS and its people.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Operational HR, the post holder will partner with the directorate leadership team enabling them to shape, translate and implement the wider people agenda, ensuring the provision of a quality people solutions, aligned and responsive to the needs of our services and supporting our staff to deliver the best patient centred care.

With demonstrable HR experience and strong technical knowledge the successful candidate will be someone who truly values collaborative working and has the skills and experience to support leaders with innovative and professional people solutions.

Main duties of the job

Working in a Senior HR Business Partner role you will advise and provide proactive support to managers and services in meeting operational and organisational objectives, through:

Consistently thinking about how their work can help and support clinicians and frontline staff deliver better outcomes for patients.

Proactively work with managers to put plans in place to resolve areas of concern and/or manage risks, ensuring delivery of national and local HR performance targets

Supporting delivery of complex change management programmes.

Provide, monitor and analyse workforce information reports for the directorate, highlighting areas for concern.

Support the directorate to complete workforce plans and update workforce strategy.

Lead on various Trust-wide workforce initiatives and programmes, with responsibility for development and implementation with your service colleagues.

Supporting the implementation of the Trusts Just Culture journey including civility and respect principles.

  • Chartered MCIPD or plans to gain chartered status within 12 months
  • Knowledge and expertise gained through in-depth experience to Masters Level equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development

Experience

  • Experience (both work and life related)
  • Substantial experience of working as a Senior HR Advisor/HRBP alongside Senior Management team and Operational service Leads
  • Experience of working at a strategic level.
  • A successful track record of managing change and service reconfiguration at a senior level
  • Significant experience of leading large scale change as an HR professional.
  • Extensive experience of managing complex employment relations, including negotiation and consultation processes.
  • Experience of applying TUPE for transfers to and from both public and private sector.
  • Significant experience of managing and motivating professionally qualified HR staff
  • Experience of working in a complex unionised environment/organisation
  • Experience of Project Management
  • Excellent interpersonal, persuasion and influencing skills.
  • Substantial experience in an operational generalist role, covering a wide range of ER responsibilities, including sickness management, disciplinaries, grievance, organisational change, redundancy etc.
  • Experience of working in a complex, changing environment, and in contentious situations.
