We have an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Duty Manager to join our expanding team in Mental Health Inpatient Services. We are looking for compassionate and highly motivated individuals who will be a key members of the management team within the Directorate of Mental Health (DMH). The role covers 24hrs 7 days a week, working a long day/night shift pattern to enable safe and effective support to patients and staff in and out of hours.
The post holder is required to be an experienced Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse with recent experience of managing or leading a team of staff within an inpatient ward.

Main duties of the job
This role is integral to managing safety across inpatient mental health services on the Glenfield Hospital site, both within normal working hours and out of hours through being the point of escalation for all of the wards with regards to incident management, staffing, complaints that can be resolved promptly, attending to the arrival of emergency services on site and the overall co-ordination of care delivery within the hospital.
This is a key leadership role which is responsible for providing expert advice, guidance, and support in relation to clinical practice and fostering a learning culture within the directorate which delivers high quality patient care, evidence-based practice, and promotes the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Out of hours, the post holder is responsible for managing the mental health services at the Glenfield Hospital site whilst on duty. This includes taking decisions and actions in relation to the immediate management of staff in line with Trust policies and procedures.. The role requires the post holder to be point of contact for external agencies such as the emergency services, Coroner and Approved Mental Health Practitioners whilst also being the point of escalation for individual Mental Health Services off site (Evington Centre, Stewart House, The Willows, Crisis Team, Liaison Services) for advice, guidance and support.
