An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our Financial Management Team. There are two roles available. One within our Estates Directorate and the other within one of our Clinical Directorates.

This is an excellent role for an ambitious individual who likes challenges, is self-motivated and wants to use their wealth of experience to add value and understand how financial resources can be used to support service improvement. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the production of accurate and timely monthly budget reports and to produce comprehensive, formal financial reports for submission to the Directorate Management Team.

The successful candidate will need to be CCAB qualified or equivalent accountancy qualification and be able to demonstrate sufficient relevant experience and achievement of specific competencies.

Main duties of the job

1. Within the financial policies, to provide confidential, sensitive and specialist financial advice and support in order that it meets the targets set by the Trust board, particularly, those relating to containing expenditure within budget, maximising income and meeting patient activity targets from available resources. This advice may be communicated verbally or in writing and it may be supported by the production of detailed and accurate financial information without advice from the line manager.

2. To monitor the performance of a Division and as directed by the Divisional Finance Manager, initiate, negotiate, influence and implement, with Divisional Team colleagues, corrective action or developments to ensure that targets are achieved.
