An exciting opportunity has become available for newly qualified nurses or existing Band 5 RMNs in Unscheduled Care Service. This role is perfect for nurses that are keen to learn new skills quickly and advance their careers.
Based at the Neville Centre at Leicester General Hospital, and currently a Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00 service, the team of Band 6 RMNs, HCSWs, supported by a Band 7 Service Lead and our admin staff, covers the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland area. Travel is minimized by the use of remote working where possible. As part of MHSOP community services our nurse-led team accesses medical support from the wider service.
Our team has a dual remit of triaging referrals into MHSOP and to provide a timely response to address immediate risk.
This major aspect of our service involves carrying out a thorough mental health assessment, and liaising with other health and social care professionals as required in order to meet the needs of our patients. The team works with patients with organic and functional illness, and our involvement is short-term. Each day is varied and at times challenging, but above all is extremely rewarding.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Community Mental Health Nurse to support people with mental health needs to access care where and when they need it and be able to move through the system easily.
This role means supporting people to be able to manage their problems and move towards individualised recovery on their own terms, surrounded by their families, carers and social networks, and supported in their local community.
We need Community Mental Health Nurses who can support individuals be able to contribute to and be participants in the communities that sustain them, to whatever extent is comfortable to them.
Main duties include, providing assessment, intervention and evaluation of packages of care for service users and reporting on aspects of work as necessary to Senior Practitioner for Nursing.
Providing leadership and supervision to junior members of staff and participate in the development of the integrated team and promote multi-disciplinary, multiagency working.
