Job summary
We currently have vacancies for experienced Health Care Support Workers to come and join our expanding team on the Belvoir, Griffin and Phoenix Wards which are Forensic and Psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) wards based at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit.
The role of the Healthcare Support Worker will be to work as part of the nursing team and you will support people through their recovery with both their physical health and their mental health needs. We are looking for candidates who are experienced working with people who have mental health problems, incredibly compassionate, caring and confident when dealing with difficult situations.
Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) are specialised wards that provide inpatient mental health care, assessment and comprehensive treatment to individuals who are experiencing the most acutely disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder, where some individuals present with acute distress and maybe an absconding, suicide, or self-harm risk.
- Griffin Ward is a 6-bed female only psychiatric intensive care unit which has a higher staff to patient ratio compared to most wards
- Belvoir Ward is a 10-bed male only psychiatric intensive care unit which has a higher staff to patient ratio compared to most wards which creates a sense of safety and a supportive team environment.
- Phoenix Ward is a 12-bed male only inpatient ward providing specialist assessment, care and treatment to men aged 18 years and over who require low secure services
Main duties of the job
Important information about these roles:
Please note that the Healthcare Support Workers work a rota system of Long Days (11.5 hr shifts) Day and Night covering a 7-day working week.
These are predominately FULL TIME ROLES (37.5 hours per week) however if you would prefer a part time opportunity, we are happy to discuss.
Please note that you will need eligibility to work in the UK for a minimum of 23 hours per week AND we do not offer sponsorship for HCA part time or full-time opportunities, therefore you will need to have a visa already allowing you to work these hours within the UK.
These HCA roles are permanent roles not bank roles and candidates will require their own right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer sponsorship.
