Job summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for healthcare support workers/assistants to develop their career through becoming a clinical trainer. If you are passionate and motivated to teach and educate others, and promoting best practice, this may be the perfect job for you. It would be beneficial to have recent mental health care clinical experience.

Good communication, interpersonal and training skills are essential for the post, as these are required to provide high quality clinical teaching. As is the ability to travel around our city and counties as training is provided in bases local to the providers. The successful applicant will benefit from having significant health care experience to be able to refer to this during training.

There are excellent opportunities for learning and development available in the Trust and the successful applicant will be well supported and encouraged to develop in their role. Should the successful applicant have equivalent experience to a training qualification, they will be expected and supported to complete a minimum level 3 qualification in training and education. Train the trainer development will be required as part of the role.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Trainer will provide specialised education and training to all groups and levels of staff and students. This will include mandatory and non-mandatory clinical training provision. The core topics delivered are, clinical skills, moving and handling, Safety Intervention, FFP3 Mask Fit testing and resuscitation. There will also be the opportunity to provide bespoke specialised training sessions / onsite training sessions to specific staff groups showing flexibility in approach based on assessment of need.

This role requires travel to other training venues. There will be occasions when the post holder is required to attend meetings. The post-holder will also be required to spend significant periods of standing delivery training sessions and moving furniture for preparing training venues.

The nature of the training to be provided requires a significant degree of physical exertion, such as that required to restrain a person or move a dynamic load.

Essential
