Job summary
Are you a Dietitian who enjoys working in an inpatient setting but also likes more flexibility and variety? Are you interested in working as part of a Multidisciplinary team providing nutritional care for people in community hospitals alongside Diabetes Clinics? Are you looking to progress from band 5 to band 6?
The Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic department are looking for a senior Dietitian to both manage a caseload of patients within across variety different community hospital settings as well as educating and promoting the importance of nutrition on the wards additionally working with a Multidisciplinary team within Diabetes outpatient clinics
Main duties of the job
The Community hospital Dietetic service covers 7 inpatient rehab sites across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. These sites provide Sub Acute, Complex Rehabilitation and End of Life Care to patients transferred from major hospitals including the University Hospitals of Leicester or alternatively patients can be admitted via their GP from home.
The team are involved it assessment and monitoring of patients on the wards, providing expert nutritional advice and support to patients, conducting regular training with ward staff, facilitating ward level multidisciplinary nutrition meetings, and ensuring appropriate discharges for patients. Due to the nature of the hospitals its not uncommon to see a wide variety of clinical conditions such as general rehab, stroke rehab requiring enteral feeding, dialysis patients and palliative care.
The Diabetes Clinics are a multidisciplinary clinic working with a wide variety of patients with Diabetes.
You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Band 5 Dietitians, Dietetic support workers, including line management and support student training.
