Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Therapy Service for People with Personality Disorder (TSPPD/FDL).

  • We have roles for Band 6 staff with a core profession in both pathways for Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) Hub and the Structured clinical management team.
  • The MBT Hub delivers therapy within both traditional standalone group therapy settings and within our Nationally recognised and accredited Therapeutic Community setting: Francis Dixon Lodge.
  • For the SCM posts you will be working with Locality treatment and recovery teams (CMHT's) to deliver groups-based interventions as part of the newly developing pathway for adults who present with difficulties associated with Personality Disorder. Whilst this is a training post, experience of working with this group of individuals in a psychotherapeutic manner is a requirement for this role but this will be assessed through interview and experience gained in a non-therapy setting will be valued.
  • There are different treatment options within our service which include longer term and shorter-term programmes.
  • You will receive training , support and regular supervision .
  • You will be working within sub-teams which include senior clinical staff, assistant psychology staff and peer support workers to work collaboratively with service users.
  • We are advertising for full-time positions but would consider part-time and flexible working if the service can accommodate this.

Main duties of the job

The posts are likely to suit someone who enjoys challenges and working in a team, is flexible, and has an ongoing commitment to working with Personality Disorder within group settings. We would welcome applications from registered individuals who are reflective and can consider the therapeutic relationship and the impact the work has on them. Candidates will require high levels of energy, enthusiasm, commitment and resilience to succeed in this role, which is important in further improving mental health services for the diverse population we serve.

The MBT Hub is a small, experienced team, therefore being able to work alongside other professionals is an essential asset. You would be supported to progress within MBT training.

The SCM role involves delivering treatments within groups and the individual sessions which form part of the Structured Clinical Management treatment pathway.

You will also be working within the TSPPD team based at Gwendolen house and with staff working into the MBT treatment pathway such as the Therapeutic Community and Mentalisation Based intervention programme. There is support in place to manage treatment group dynamics, this involves detailed planning and supervision to ensure that groups are being run in line with the SCM stance.

Assessment, safeguarding and risk management would be an intrinsic part of the role .

You must have a core profession and significant experience of working with the client group .
