are looking for a likeminded person who has the passion and drive to make a
difference for the individuals we work with who are struggling with a diagnosis of dementia.
The Technical
instructor role is varied, working with and reporting to both Occupational Therapists and
Physiotherapist. Supporting with assessments, interventions and group work.
You will need a
calm and patient approach with excellent communication skills in order to engage successfully with our patients who have complex health needs, both physical and mental. By using a compassionate
approach and with the drive to make a difference the role can be very rewarding.
Main duties of the job
As a Technical Instructor you will be involved
right from the start of the patients journey, completing initial screening and
assessments, working with therapists to plan interventions with regular
reviews.
You will work
with individuals on a 1:1 basis and provide some group interventions. You will be
expected to maintain good written and verbal communication, have excellent
organisational skills and feel confident to appropriately/sensitively share
your experiences, ideas and skills with all staff across the MDT, wider
services and carers and families.

- Undertake initial screening assessments following written protocols and feeding results back to supervising therapists and ward multidisciplinary team (MDT)
- Undertake skilled and specialised support work involving clinical interventions requiring higher level technical skills to assess and support patients with complex conditions e.g. functional assessments, relaxation, anxiety management, following written protocols.
