Job summary

It is an exciting time for mental health services in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our community mental health offer is undergoing a major transformation and we are searching for people with a range of skills and a passion to deliver great mental health services.

We are looking for qualified individuals from MH nursing, allied health profession and social care backgrounds who have experience of supporting individuals with a range of complex mental health needs. Ideal candidates will also have experience of working with a multi-disciplinary team to support individuals and groups of people to recover and gain skills to maintain their mental health and well-being.

We want individuals working in our teams to demonstrate a commitment to a recovery approach and working collaboratively with the people who use our services. We are also looking for people who can develop relationships and work in an integrated way with a range of practitioners from outside of the NHS including primary care, social care and the voluntary-community sector.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for people who:

  • Have previous experience of working with mental illness either in an inpatient or community setting.
  • Have the ability to manage the demands of a caseload and plan a diary effectively.
  • Have a commitment to and a working knowledge of recovery principles and interventions.
  • Enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team as well as being able to work on your own initiative.
  • Are enthusiastic, positive and ready to work in a transformative environment.

  • Current professional registration: Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Psychologist
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate registration training and development in particular motivational interviewing, brief solution focussed interventions, cognitive and behavioural approaches and psychosocial interventions to enable the management of a caseload of service users with complex needs

Desirable

  • Non-medical Prescriber or willing to work towards (those with NMC Registration only)

  • Significant post registration/qualification experience of working with service users with complex mental health needs

  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills
