Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Outpatient Team have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to apply for a Band 7 Mental Health Practitioner Role within the dynamic and supportive CAMHS Outpatient Team .

The successful candidate will be a part of the Access Initial Assessment pathway within CAMHS Outpatients. The Access pathway offers assessments focused on Mental Health and Neurodevelopmental issues. The successful candidate will work within a MDT to assess and consider the most appropriate pathway options for the young people and children.

The team are dynamic and consistently evolving to be able to offer the best support / assessments and treatment to the young people and children that we serve. Come be a part of an exciting and truly multi-disciplinary approach to the patient experience, working alongside Psychiatrists, Social workers, Mental health nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychotherapists, Health Care Support Workers and peer support workers all aiming to provide the best experience and quality care.

We offer flexible working and hours cover from 8am to 8pm Monday - Friday.

Main duties of the job

  • to work within a MDT offering a comprehensive initial assessment for the children and young people considering the family, mental health needs, risk and sign posting.
  • To work alongside / with the MDT to ascertain the most appropriate pathway and care
  • Liaison with other agencies
  • supporting student learning and shadowing opportunities
  • to offer leadership and supervision to colleagues
  • To work with the Clinical Team Leads to support service development

  • Diploma/Degree or Equivalent
  • Post Registration Qualification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development within the last 12 months
