Job summary
Mental Health Services Urgent Care and Access Pathway has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Band 7 Team Leader/Senior Mental Health Practitioner with an interest and/or experience in the criminal justice system, to join the Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion Service.
The service operates from police custody and court, which directly engages and supports vulnerable people going through criminal justice system.
You will be working with both adults and young people, within what is a very interesting and rewarding area of care that is continuing to develop further. As a front-line service, each day can be different in what can be a busy and unpredictable environment.
As a Team leader and Senior Mental Health Practitioner, the post holder will have both clinical and operational responsibilities.
The post is open to experienced practitioners from a variety of disciplines including nursing, social work, and occupational therapy who are passionate and motivated.
The successful applicant will be required to apply for Leicestershire Police vetting clearance and have it approved before a contract can be agreed. Please be aware of the common failures in relation to police vetting.
Main duties of the job
- As a Clinical Team Lead, you will be working within the leadership structure of the Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion services.
- The post holder will be expected to ensure the team adopts the policies and philosophy of LPT.
- The Clinical Team Lead will promote independence, foster a learning culture, and enhance the autonomy of the service user, and ensuring high quality, compassionate, person-centred care.
- The post holder will clinically and professionally provide supervision to the team members.
- Through strong leadership they will ensure evidence-based practice is delivered to improve the quality of and shape responsive services.
- The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that established clinical mechanisms support safe, high-quality care throughout the 12-hour period.
- The post holder will be required to clinically co-ordinate and lead a multi-agency staff team and ensure the provision and development of an effective service in line with legislative, procedural, and contractual requirements.
- The post holder will provide strong and effective clinical leadership
- Above all the post holder will ensure provision of a safe, culturally competent, effective, timely and accessible service that is in accordance with national and local priorities and responsive to the needs of individuals in contact with the service
