Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen
for two experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologists to join the
Leicester Doctorate in Clinical Psychology as Clinical Tutors. These part-time,
permanent roles will suit those with experience and interest in working with
trainee clinical psychologists as they complete their Doctorate in Clinical
Psychology.
Interviews will be via Teams on 4th
April 2023. Short-listed candidates are most welcome to arrange to visit the
University base before or after the interview date to assist in their decision
making.
Main duties of the job
Core aspects of the role include:
- liaison with trainees and placement
supervisors in the assessment of clinical placements
- assessment of clinically related
skills (e.g. clinical skills assessments, case reports)
- teaching
- module coordination
As a course we are currently exploring dual accreditation options within systemic family therapy (AFT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (BABCP), and so applicants with accreditation in either of these are especially encouraged.

- Experience of teaching and training.
- Experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, in-patient and residential care settings including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, including emotionally impactful and charged verbal communication.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and also within the context of a multi-disciplinary care plan.
Desirable
- Post-qualification experience of involvement within clinical psychology training.
- Experience assessing coursework in higher education.
- Experience of professional management of pre-qualified clinical psychologists.
