Job summary

We are looking for a forward-thinking Clinical Psychologist, CBT therapist or Adult Psychotherapist with leadership and project management skills to lead the new LPT Step 3.5 Pathway.

This post will provide direct line management and professional leadership to the psychological professionals within the pathway. The post-holder will also lead the design and implementation of the pathway. They will have registration level training in a psychological therapy or applied psychology and extensive experience of its application across a range of presentations. They will hold a current, active registration with the appropriate professional body. They will be fully supported by the Lead of the CBT Service in LPT.

The Step 3.5 Pathway will provide psychological interventions for presentations that fit between NHS Talking Therapies and Secondary Care, including complex trauma and recurrent depression. It will work in an innovative and flexible manner to offer evidence-based approaches that improve psychological well-being and promote recovery goals. The pathway will be countywide, working closely with neighbourhood partners to meet the diverse needs of local communities.

This is a great opportunity to develop both leadership and clinical skills, offering direct clinical interventions together with training, supervision, and reflective practice. Applicants are welcome to contact Rachel Shelbourne, CBT Service Lead, for an initial discussion on 0116 295 2305.

Main duties of the job

- To provide senior clinical and professional leadership and line management to staff from the psychological professions within the LPT Step 3.5 Pathway

- To establish effective systems for the supervision and governance of clinical practice

- To carry a clinical caseload

You will play an essential leadership role in managing the provision of an innovative and effective Step 3.5 Pathway which meets the needs of diverse communities across LLR, offering assessment and psychosocial interventions. You will work closely with the CBT Service Lead and other senior staff to devise structures for training and supervision of staff and for the audit and evaluation of the pathway, that enable a clinically effective service. You will hold a reduced caseload and provide the advanced clinical expertise, so the pathway delivers holistic, psychosocial treatment including evidence-based individual psychological interventions. You will support the communication between the team and MDT colleagues, to facilitate the smooth transition of service users to other services and pathways within and outside of LPT. You will be based in the team base but there may be opportunities to work from home in certain circumstances.
