Job summary

An exciting and newly created opportunity has arisen to become a Contract Manager working in Estates and Facilities at Leicester Partnership Trust.

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the management of :

  • All maintenance service contracts and ad hoc maintenance contractors to ensure a seamless service delivery between in house and contract labour at LPT maintained sites.
  • A seven year rolling procurement strategy
  • Lead Management of a Helpdesk

You will highly motivated and experienced and able to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, and resourceful with a high level of professionalism.

You will juggle multiple demands, have knowledge of business/administrative management principles and procedures, and organise your own workload in a creative, committed and collaborative way in line with the Trusts values.

You will maintain patient confidentiality at all times, actively participate in the staff appraisal process, be familiar with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety Policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure all required maintenance service contracts and specialist reactive maintenance contractors are in place and are routinely reviewed, renewed, and tendered in a timely and efficient manner to meet the needs of the Estates service.
  • Set up and implement a contractor induction programme and data base. Ensure all contractors are aware of Trust requirements and specific safety and operational issues on the site.
  • Work in partnership with the LPT nonclinical procurement services department to ensure technical specifications produced are tendered by procurement in a timely, efficient, and compliant manner
  • Carry out regular quality reviews on all contractors work and ensure formal contractor review systems are in place to formally monitor and record contractor performance. Producing and preparing monthly performance reports for the Head of Estates, as required.
  • Support the Maintenance Management team in the performance management of the contractors in order to develop productive working relationships and take appropriate corrective action to deal with any recurring shortfalls from the contractor.
  • Work with Ground and Gardens contractors for permits for Tree Preservation Orders and trees in conservation areas.
  • Develop and maintain approved contractor lists across all areas of maintenance utilising qualitative and cost criteria. From these lists develop and maintain framework contracts for all specialist services.

Desirable

  • Some experience of operational service delivery, particularly in a FM Healthcare environment would be beneficial and desirable

  • Evidence of continuing professional and managerial development.
