Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Pharmacist to work as part of the Adult ADHD Service which is currently based at the Herschel Prins Centre (HPC), Glenfield Hospital. The ADHD service has a high referral rate for new referrals and transitions from CAMHS and continues to grow to meet the current demand.

As an ADHD Pharmacist you will work as an independent prescriber for a designated caseload of people who have been diagnosed with ADHD. You will provide treatment initiations, titrations and annual reviews. You will be part of an experienced team of Non-medical prescribers and Advanced Clinical Practitioners.

The service is clinic based, with clinics held in various locations across Leicestershire. You will be based at HPC but will need to be flexible to provide clinics at other sites across Leicestershire. For this reason it is important that you are a driver and have access to your own transport.

We are seeking an energetic, motivated, experienced Pharmacist who has a masters degree and is anIndependent Prescriber with mental health experience. Experience of working with ADHD in Adults or Children is desirable. Full training and induction will be provided. You will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently, as well as part of the wider MDT and be adaptable to the changing needs of the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will use their experience, skills and initiative to develop, co-ordinate and provide a high quality clinical pharmacy service to community based patients and their carers within Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT), in the Adult ADHD Service.

The post holder will be an expert in psychiatric therapeutics and provide a specialist referral point for all health and social care professionals working within the ADHD Service. They will be a core member of multidisciplinary team meetings and undertake clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives where required to improve services.

The post holder will be expected to have their own clinical caseload and deliver quality-driven key performance indicators in line with Pharmacy and Trust priorities
