Job summary

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to move into practice education and training?

Are you interested in a new opportunity to develop yourself and others?

If so, then this is the role for you. We are extremely committed to the development of our nursing teams and look forward to welcoming applications from candidates that are equally as passionate about healthcare, staff development and improving patient care.

We are seeking three enthusiastic, highly experienced Level 1 (Adult) Registered Nurses with strong clinical skills, leadership skills and recent or current community hospital or hospital ward nursing expertise to join our CHS Clinical Education Team as a Clinical Trainer/Practice Development Nurse.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, dynamic nurse to apply their clinical nursing skills and knowledge to Clinical Education. You should be committed to fostering a learning culture which delivers high quality patient care, evidence-based practice, research, and innovation and have a proven track record of supervising, assessing, mentoring, and developing a range of nursing staff.

Our team works mainly Monday to Friday during office hours but with the expectation that some occasional weekend or out-of-hours work may be required to meet training needs.

Main duties of the job

The job role: The full job description and person specifications are attached to this advert, but the key elements for the role include:

  • Working with minimal supervision in contributing to the design and delivery of high-quality effective training, learning and development interventions, to ensure that the Community Health Services (CHS) directorate workforce has the requisite knowledge, skills, and competence to deliver safe, effective patient care.
  • Being responsible for providing expert advice, guidance, and support in relation to clinical nursing practice within our Community Hospitals.
  • Working in partnership with key stakeholders (internal and external), and educational establishments to provide appropriate consistent learning opportunities.
  • Working alongside all members of the wider education service (including service users/patients), assisting in the development and implementation of quality education programmes that reflect contemporary practice and promotes high quality patient care, whilst incorporating national guidance and supporting the Trusts local agenda.
  • Supporting the assessment of clinical competence within clinical practice areas by working alongside clinicians.
