Job summary

We have a fantastic job opportunity for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker within our Community Mental Health Team. We are offering a permanent full-time post working from Monday to Friday 9.00-17.00.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who would be able to work autonomously within a wider Community Mental Health team. We are looking for an individual who is committed to provide best possible care to our client group and will demonstrate our Trust values in their everyday work.

West Leicestershire Community Mental Health Team is based at the Hynca Lodge and we are a part of the Mental Health Services for Older People. The team consists of qualified and unqualified nursing staff, Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists , Admin staff and Clinical Psychologist we have close links with GPs and community health services, other Mental Health services and Social Services. We work in a multi-disciplinary way and we have a holistic recovery focused approach to our care provision.

Main duties of the job

Our Health Care Support Workers are valued members of the team and we will expect you to;

  • Work alongside your team members to contribute to the assessment, implementation and evaluation of care.
  • Work under indirect supervision of qualified professionals
  • Carry out delegated tasks as identified by the qualified professionals
  • Support patients to maintain their health and well-being
  • Undertake specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities
  • Ensure high standards are maintained in a safe environment, promoting equality and sensitivity for all individuals
  • Accurately record patient information on the Electronic Patient Record in a timely manner

As well as all mandatory training we will provide regular individual management and clinical supervision, peer supervision and annual appraisal. There are on-going opportunities to develop your skills and experience further and participate in HCSW development forum.

  • Have completed the care certificate or a willingness to complete this over a 12 week period
  • Experience of working with Older Adults with a range of Mental Health Illnesses
