Job summary

360 Assurance is an NHS hosted service (hosted by Leicestershire Partnership Trust) delivering high quality internal audit, assurance, counter fraud and consultancy work to a large number of organisations, predominantly within the NHS.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and self-motivated person who wants to progress their career in internal audit as part of our client management team.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering specialist skills and expertise into our internal audit service. We welcome discussions if you feel you have relevant skills and expertise that will add value to our service.

This role will see you using your extensive knowledge as an audit professional to successfully manage audit delivery and support the development of new systems and processes leading to overall quality and efficiency improvements.

Travel will be expected across the client base; therefore a driving licence and car availability are essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be professionally qualified (ie member of professional body) in relation to Internal Audit/Finance (ie. CMIIA or CCAB) or a passed finalist with a clear plan to achieve full qualification. You will have an advanced understanding and set of skills in relation to management of resources, costs, time and staff budgets. This will allow you to develop both core and specialist services to clients whilst also building relationships and delivering briefs to Directors, Non-Executive Directors and Senior Managers both at an operational and strategic level which can include complex issues.

Experience of audit governance, risk and control is essential alongside confident presentation and communication skills for regular attendance at Audit Committees to meet reporting requirements.

You will be required to undertake information analysis and produce excellent visual presentation of information alongside developing high quality reports so some experience in these areas is also necessary.

360 Assurance supports staff personal development and continuous improvement however, you will also be responsible for participating in 360 Assurances appraisal and development activities alongside any joint or other individual objectives that have been set.

Essential

  • Detailed working knowledge of systems and risk-based auditing processes including risk management systems and principles.
  • Detailed understanding of how the internal audit process sits within an organisation's governance arrangements as well as within the wider NHS, including an understanding of assurance mechanisms used by different health and social care organisations.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly use of Microsoft office. This will include the ability to effectively analyse, interpret and evaluate information.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professionally qualified (i.e. member of professional body such as CMIIA or CCAB) or masters level qualification / equivalent training and experience.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • GCSE qualification (or equivalent). Must include English Language / Literature and Mathematics at a Grade C or above.

Desirable

  • Prince2 accredited (or studying towards).

Experience

  • Significant experience of:
  • - internal audit, assurance / compliance (eg regulatory or inspection body), external audit (provided within public sector), or systematic process review at an organisational level
  • - line management of staff
  • - working in the health and social care sector
  • - attending and presenting at Board level committees and of developing and delivering training and / or workshops
  • - writing reports for presentation to senior management and senior committees
  • - facilitating and chairing meetings involving senior staff
  • - operational experience in specialist area.
