Job summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a brand new service, targeting patients with deteriorating weight in an intensive virtual programme.

The new Step-Up service team will work across 5 different counties offering patients an adjunct to their ongoing therapy. This will include a range of individual sessions and groups including: CBT, Psych-Ed, body image group, compulsive exercise group. The Step-Up service will also support patients with meal supervision, trips to coffee shops/supermarkets and low-key fun groups.

The occupational therapist will take a lead in facilitating and co-facilitating these groups with the support of other experienced clinicians across the provider collaborative.

Main duties of the job

The main aspects will be taking a role in the planning and development of the Step-Up service, including:

Occupational Therapy assessments
Intervention plans including: 1:1 goal setting and support, meal supervision/meal cookery, low key groups e.g. arts and crafts, supermarket support.
Facilitating groups, both face to face and virtually
Providing supervision to junior staff
Training and development of staff
Risk management
Coordinating timetable of groups
Working collaboratively with patients and carers
