Job summary

The Deputy Trust Secretary role provides an exciting opportunity to innovate and improve the delivery of corporate affairs services on behalf of Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. This is an interesting, varied and high-profile post, with a degree of autonomy, which requires the ability to motivate, provide high quality advice relating to corporate governance matters, and to build strong internal and external relationships. Excellent time management skills as well as the ability to strategically manage the work portfolio will be essential. You will be leading and working with a small team responsible for a wide corporate affairs portfolio, including supporting the Trust to comply with all relevant legislative and corporate governance requirements; comprehensive knowledge and experience of working within an NHS corporate governance remit will be essential.

Main duties of the job

Main duties

Support the Director of Corporate Governance in their remit as the Trust Secretary by ensuring that Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust maintains the highest levels of corporate governance and that members of the Trust Board are supported to function effectively and support the achievement of the Trusts strategic objectives.

- Manage processes which ensure the Trust is compliant with its governance and regulatory responsibilities and provide effective secretariat support for the Board, Executive Team, and related committees.

- Manage process which are also in line with regulatory requirements, including NHSE and the Care Quality Commission under the Well Led Framework.

- Ensure that the Trust has in place, sound, integrated corporate governance policies, procedures and structures and the Trust complies with its legal, constitutional and regularity requirements.

- Produce the annual meeting programme for the board of directors, and their various sub committees, incorporating an appropriate timetable for the production, distribution and publication of agenda and paper and ensuring the before, during and after stages of all meetings and workshops are efficiently and effectively serviced.

Have a high degree of capability in concentration, planning and organisational skills to ensure that these key high-level meetings run efficiently and that future plans can be made and achieved to support the strategic aims of the Trust.
