Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced Administration Team as a Band 2 Audio Typist supporting the Medical Sectary Team within the Families, Young People and Childrens and Learning Disabilities Services Directorate.

The post holder will be based at Bridge Park Plaza, Thurmaston, on the edge of Watermead Country Park. Free car parking on site is available. We are currently looking at a Blended approach to working and this involves some degree of home working once training has been completed.

The role is diverse, with each day bringing new challenges. You will have proven ability in using your own initiative, working with confidential and highly sensitive information, showing attention to details and the ability to work accurately, whilst understanding the importance of adhering to Trust Policies and local procedures. A confident, professional personality with a can do attitude is a must.

Main duties of the job

Typing from audio dictation using Big Hand software

Adherence to patient confidentiality and patient safety

Spreadsheet for inputting data

Using Electronic patient records (SystmOne) to type into various templates

Tasking Clinicians for signature

Tasking/liaising with other colleagues

Making ad-hoc phone calls to chase missing data

Sending Electronic referrals

Problem solving (incoherent audio)

Research e.g., searching EPR for names, addresses and medical conditions

Attention to detail for checking own typing

Finalise all signed letters following Standard Operating Procedures

Printing off signed letters following protocol to ensure no breaches

Distribution of those clinic letters using envelopes

Ensuring all enclosures are enclosed e.g., questionnaires/blood forms

Managing/prioritise own workload

Training of new staff/mentoring
