Job summary
At Leicestershire Partnership Trust we have some exciting brand-new job opportunities across our Mental Health wards as Inpatient Activity Coordinators!
As an Inpatient Activity Coordinator, you will be based on the ward delivering and facilitating 1:1 and group activities that will meet a range of needs for our inpatients including physical, mental and social wellbeing. You will also work closely with the multi-disciplinary team such as Medical, Nursing, Therapy and Psychology staff as well as the Wellbeing and Engagement Officers.
With this role, we have a range of opportunities across various wards from Acute adult, Mental health services for older people, Rehabilitation, Psychiatric intensive care and Low secure and all of these roles cover a 7 day rota including evenings and weekend.
For this role you must have a good understanding of what an Activity Coordinator does, you will have a real desire to look after and help people, you will have excellent communication skills and also be able to demonstrate all of our values.
For this role: Mobility Car owner/driver transport or suitable alternative to enable you to undertake the job role , dependence on public transport is not suitable for this role. You must demonstrate how you would meet the stated mobility requirement on your application form.

Main duties of the job
Job Summary:
Delivering and facilitating a range of 1:1 and group activities over a 7-day working pattern that will include evenings and weekend.
These activities will meet a range of needs including physical, mental and social well-being.
To be flexible, facilitating activities on other wards across the site when needed.
Facilitate physical health and wellbeing activities including supporting patients to use the gym where required, when appropriately qualified as a level 2 gym instructor.
To guide and support other ward staff to provide activities on the ward when the Activity coordinator is not on the ward
Promoting, co-ordinating & evidencing the cultural and awareness days.
Securing new monies to support the purchase of equipment for the activities.
Co-facilitating patient consultations groups e.g community meetings.
