Job summary

If so you may be the very person we are looking for. We have vacancies for Healthy Child Programme Practitioners (community nursery nurse) across Leicestershire and Rutland. You will have a suitable qualification such as NNEB, Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE) or NVQ Child Care Level 3 Qualification as well as a variety of experience working with children. You will need to be a driver and have access to your own transport. Public transport will not be suitable in order to fulfil this role. Main duties of the job

You will work as an integral part of the clinical team working with children from birth to school age. You will participate in the delivery of The Healthy Child Programme and be expected to work in various community settings including the family homes. You will get involved in delivering universal 10-12 month and 2-2. 5 year development reviews, so a sound knowledge of child development will be crucial. You will advise parents on a wide range of issues including positive parenting skills, helping parents understand and support their childs behaviour; weaning and nutrition; play and stimulation; speech and language development; sleep management and toilet training; ensuring that advice is evidence based to facilitate school readiness. You will need to be someone who can use your initiative and be attentive to detail. You should be able to work autonomously, but also be part of a team. Your development in this role will be supported through a package of training including healthy growth; breastfeeding; healthy bladder/healthy bowel; hearing awareness; immunisations; minor ailments; Solihull; SEND and safeguarding as well as specific training delivered by colleagues in speech therapy, physiotherapy, dietetics.
