8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities, Leicestershire. (Also ideal for a newly qualified Candidate interested in 7/8a PRECEPTORSHIP available - contact us to discuss or if you are a CBT Therapist interested). RECRUITMENT PREMIA PLUS PROFESSIONAL FEES FOR FIRST TWO YEARS. RELOCATION EXPENSES where appropriate. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join us in LPT LD community services. 8a candidates will have post-qualification experience & enjoy working in this specialty. Or, you may be seeking opportunities to broaden your qualified experience & use your transferable skills to support adults with LD. LPT provides high quality services for adults with learning disabilities through 9 clinical pathways. Clinical Psychologists are highly valued and a range of psychological approaches is well established. We aim to promote psychological mindedness & expertise to meet psychological needs of adults with LD. We nurture our staff & their development with regular clinical supervision (individual & peer group), job plans, annual appraisals and training needs analyses in line with pathway & professional needs. Recent CPD has included EMDR, Compassion focussed, and narrative therapy, trauma-based PBS. Research and service evaluation is encouraged. You will be a link person for one of our pathways e.g. Trauma/ PBS/ autism/ mental health. LPT has a well-being hub for staff. Hybrid home/ community based working models are currently in place.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide a principal clinical psychology service to adults with an intellectual disability, their families and their carers to include: specialist psychological assessments, development of formulations, and implementation of psychological interventions within the scientist-practitioner framework. To draw upon an extensive knowledge of psychological theory in order to interpret complex information, and communicate this to others in an accessible way. To work with others including: multi-disciplinary and multi-agency colleagues and provision of specialist advice and consultancy as required.
2. To work autonomously within the boundaries of the Code of Practice of the HCPC, local trust policies and to be accountable for own professional actions. To plan and prioritise their own workload.
3. To provide a lead specialist role in psychologically based assessments and interventions within a team and offer specialist advice and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to diagnosis and treatment.
4. To supervise work of less experienced staff such as psychologists, counsellors, clinical psychology trainees, assistant or clinical associate psychologists.
5. To undertake Audit, Research and Development within the learning disability service and Continued Professional Development activities
