Due to internal reorganisation, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our in-patient stroke team at St Lukes Hospital in Market Harborough as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist
We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a collaborative way with patients, families and multi-disciplinary team to help us develop our service.
As a stroke service within Leicestershire, quality improvement is at the heart of everything we do in line with our Trust wide Step up to Great agenda.
You will continue to develop your clinical skills with a varied caseload of patients requiring in patient stroke rehabilitation.
Patients arrive on our unit within a few days of their stroke and you will work together with them, their families, and the wider MDT to implement individualised rehabilitation programmes to meet patient goals.
Main duties of the job
There will be opportunities to be involved in service development initiatives and to continue our work embedding the latest evidence into clinical practice.
We are looking for someone who has a curiosity to learn in a supportive environment and to use creative approaches to share this learning across the MDT.
This post will work alongside existing staff to provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to deliver rehabilitation and timely discharges from our 15 bedded stroke ward.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervision of junior staff within the therapy team and some of the day to day management of the unit, providing an opportunity to develop managerial skills alongside continued development of clinical skills.
Part time hours and job share will also be considered.
