Job summary

Are you flexible, enthusiastic and committed to providing excellent patient care? If so we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for band 6 Occupational Therapists to join the Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS).

CINSS was established in 2016 as part of the Better Care Together Initiative and strives to provide specialist integrated care to patients in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The team continues to rapidly evolve and provides varied exciting opportunities to develop the service further, both clinically and organisationally.

The successful candidate will join a specialist multi-disciplinary team comprising of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, a Neuropsychologist, a Rehabilitation Consultant and Generic Rehabilitation Technical Instructors.

The post is for a fulltime band 6 Occupational Therapist working 37.5hrs per week (the service will also consider applications for part time working hours).

Positions are available in Leicester City, based at BHSCC, and Leicestershire East, based at St Luke’s Hospital in Market Harborough or Melton Mowbray Hospital.

Main duties of the job

This post requires a dedicated autonomous Occupational Therapist with sound clinical experience in neurology and stroke rehabilitation. Previous community experience would also be advantageous. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a caseload in a busy and developing community environment with opportunities to also work in outpatients. Excellent organisational, communication and team working skills are required for this position, along with the ability to support and train other members of the CINSS team. There are also internal opportunities within the service to rotate into the Discharge to Assess and 3 day Response Teams.

The CINSS team hub is at Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre, with regional bases in Loughborough Hospital; Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital; St Luke’s Hospital; and Melton Hospital.

The post is for 37.5hrs per week but the service will also consider applications for part-time working hours. Positions are available in the city, based at Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre, or in east Leicestershire, based at either Melton Hospital or St Luke’s Hospital.

The trust embraces agile working which enables employees to maximise their performance and productivity whilst maintaining a good work life balance.

If you are enthusiastic and self-motivated, we look forward to hearing from you.
