Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Sovereign Unit for a permanent TI3. You will be working in a 14 bedded NHS reablement unit. The unit is based in a care home

You will be working with an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist as well as an experienced TI4. We are a friendly team who work closely together supporting each other throughout the day. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00 16.00. You will participate in and support the provision of assessment and clinical treatment programmes following professional assessment and guidance.

This may relate to all areas of mobility, exercise programmes, transfers, personal and daily living, upper limb, cognitive, visual, perceptual, and sensory rehabilitation. This will give you the opportunity to develop your clinical competencies to gain more experience in all these areas.

As well as this the therapy team run exercise groups and activity groups to which you will make a valuable contribution. You will also be able to support the Occupational Therapist with home visits. As our patients can be with us for up to 4 weeks you will be able to develop a good therapeutic relationship with them and make a real difference to their discharge plan. As part of your role will be expected to take responsibility for collecting and cleaning equipment when patients are discharged from the unit and participate in regular stock takes of equipment.

Main duties of the job

You must have a clear understanding of the role of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have good time management and prioritisation skills and be flexible in your approach. You will need to be motivated, organised, and have the confidence to use your initiative for problem solving.

You will need to have had experience of working with a variety of different people. Previous experience in therapy is desirable, however work experience in a healthcare setting will be considered if appropriate.

Clerical experience and the ability to use computers are desirable in this post, as administrative and clerical duties are involved.
