Job summary
We are looking to recruit a specialist Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work with in the Learning Disability Intensive Support Team. You'll work within a Multidisciplinary Team providing timely input around individuals occupational wellbeing needs that contributes to the maintenance of their placement within the community.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
Implement aspects of the Positive Behavioural Support Pathway. Notably assessments and interventions around ADLs, Meaningful activity and sensory work. Additionally implementing aspects of the Mental Health, Trauma and Autism pathways.
Contributing to and leading on risk assessments and risk management plans.
Working with Families and staffing teams.
Attending and contributing to MDTs, MAMs and CTRs.

The Learning Disability Outreach/ Intensive Support Team
provides intensive support to people with Learning Disabilities living in the
community who are experiencing a period of crisis in relation to complex mental
health and behavioural needs.
We offer rapid assessment, support and risk management in
order to prevent placement breakdown and inappropriate Psychiatric Hospital
admissions.
The team consists of Learning Disability and Mental Health
Nurses, Support Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapy,
Psychology and Psychiatry. We provide a service 7 days a week, from 8 am -9pm,
including bank holidays.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated and adaptable
Band 6 Occupational Therapist required to work Mon-Fri 9-5. You will need to be passionate about the
holistic needs of people with Learning Disabilities and have excellent
communication skills, be able to demonstrate the OT process to autonomously deliver
high quality assessment and treatment, experience of working in a
multidisciplinary team, experience/understanding of Positive Behavioural
Support and Crisis Management in relation to mental health beneficial along
with an understanding of sensory differences. Previous experience of community work is an
advantage.
Successful applicants will link and be supported by the
wider LD OT community team and Inpatient teams around OT clinical issues and
managed within the Learning Disability Outreach/ Intensive Support Team.
As the team covers Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
applicants will need to use car at work to complete clinical visits.
