Job summary

This is an interesting position for an experienced RMN, RNMH, RMCN, RLDN with experience in CBT and working with children and young people to work as part of the Mental Health Support Team. The role is aimed at professionals who are looking for a varied and rewarding opportunity.

Main duties of the job

This service is particularly aimed at offering low intensity CBT via 1:1 or groups within an education setting in line with mental health early intervention and prevention to children and young people.

Qualifications

Essential

  • RMN, RNMH, RMCN, RLDN or other nurse qualification, Social Work qualification, Systemic Therapy qualification Occupational Therapy qualification and registration with professional body
  • Additional training in child and adolescent mental health
  • Qualification in therapeutic approaches with children and families eg CBT, solution focussed therapy, play therapy
  • Willingness to train for the PG Diploma in low intensity supervision

Experience

Essential

  • 2 years post qualification experience working therapeutically with children and families
  • Experience of delivering CBT-informed supervision, ideally of practice related to education settings, supervising CYPMHS clinicians and trainees
  • Experience of working with evidence-based approaches to low mood, anxiety, and behaviour problems
  • Experience of working with children, young people and parents presenting with a range of mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour
  • Have contributed to multidisciplinary team meetings and co-working assessments and treatment within clinic-based and education-based settings
  • Experience in managing safeguarding concerns and risk to self/others
  • To hold a clinical caseload of complex health needs including mental health as a lead professional within a multi-agency team
  • Experience of supervision and ability to work autonomously
