Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The Team
You will be joining an inpatient team, working with older adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties. You will be supported by your line manager, and work alongside a team of nurses, healthcare support staff and a multi-disciplinary team, all contributing to the provision of excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job
The Role
- Many of our elderly patients will have combined mental and physical health needs, and we welcome applicants from either a mental health, physical health or learning disability nursing background.
- The role will include working as the Named Nurse for individual patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, and participate in clinical team review meetings.
- All candidates must be computer literate and have a firm understanding of information governance.
- Students are a key part of our team and you will provide mentorship to learners on the ward.
- You will have a clear understanding of clinical supervision and participate in reflective practice groups with team members.
- You will show a keen interest in developing your skills and knowledge in the inpatient environment as an effective member of the inpatient care team.
- You will be encouraged to take part in group and individual activities in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist and nursing colleagues.
- Your role will include working with carers and families to provide support during the acute admission phase.
- You should have excellent communications skills and the ability to work alone and as part of a team.
