Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, flexible and committed Band 4 Technical Instructors to join our existing LLR Falls Prevention Service focusing on the patients of Leicester City.

The team provides patients with specialist falls assessment and rehabilitation in both community and outpatient settings either on a 1-1 basis or in groups. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team which includes Consultant Geriatricians, Nurses and Therapists.

This post requires Technical Instructors who have experience working with patients who are at risk of falls. Experience working in the community would also be desirable. Excellent organisation, communication and team working skills are required for this position.

If you are enthusiastic, self-motivated and dynamic we look forward to hearing from you. This is a great opportunity to join a Falls Prevention Service which is expanding its role in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy service to all patients
  • To undertake skilled and specialised support work which involves clinical techniques requiring higher level technical skills to assess and treat patients with complex conditions within their own homes.
  • To work unsupervised with individual patients, making alterations to treatment programmes according to protocols & reporting back patient progress and informing the OT/Physiotherapist of any relevant issues.
  • To be able to work effectively as a team including delegation of appropriate therapy tasks to Band 3 Support Workers
