Job summary

FALLS PREVENTION SERVICE

We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and committed Band 6 Occupational Therapist, to work in the established Specialist Community Falls Prevention Service. The Post covers the East side of Leicestershire and works in the community hospitals based in Market Harborough, Rutland and Melton Mowbray.

The team provides patients with specialist falls assessment and rehabilitation in community and outpatient settings. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team which includes Consultant Geriatricians, Nurses, Physiotherapists and Technical Instructors.

This post requires an Occupational Therapist who preferably has clinical skills and experience working with patients who are at risk of falls. Experience working in the community would also be desirable. Excellent organisational, communication and team working skills are required for this position.

Main duties of the job

To work as a Specialist Clinician to utilise, develop and enhance Occupational Therapy clinical and professional skills within the Falls Service to deliver high standards of practice.

To apply the Occupational Therapy process within a Multi-Disciplinary format providing specialist assessment and treatment in the LLR Falls Pathway.

To take a lead in developing the Falls Service. This involves promoting high quality clinical practice and ensuring professional standards are maintained in the workplace.

To deliver a specialist Occupational Therapy Service to patients within a variety of settings, requiring flexibility/adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments to maximise their abilities and opportunities for occupational wellbeing.
