Job summary

Are you looking for a rotational post which will allow you to develop clinical skills across a range of specialities?

New and exciting opportunities across a newly created Band 5 rotation are now available at Leicestershire Partnership Trust.

We are looking for Band 5 Occupational Therapists who would like to develop their skills within Physical Rehabilitation, Mental Health Services for Older People and Community settings. We are looking for someone who possesses a professional approach, good communication and problem-solving skills, and has a positive approach to multidisciplinary team working and person-centred care.The four areas that the rotational post include are on our:

  • Medical step down and rehabilitation ward at Coalville hospital, caring predominantly for frail elderly and/or medically unwell patients.
  • Stroke Rehabilitation Ward at Coalville Hospital.
  • Hinckley Community Therapy and Home First team,and with our
  • Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) post working within our Community Mental Health Team in Hinckley.

Skills developed on each rotation will support your growth as a clinician and enable you to widen your scope of practice.

Main duties of the job

This rotational post would give the rare, and sought after, opportunity of gaining a variety of clinical skills in physical rehabilitation, community mental health services for older people and community settings. The rotations are for 9 months each. Shift patterns differ for each rotation with the Community Therapy team providing a 7-day service, the others being Monday-Friday.

Ideally you will need to be able to have your own car, as two of the rotations are community based, however the Trust does have Lease car schemes that can be accessed.

The successful post holder will be working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team and will be joining established, supportive and welcoming teams of occupational therapists. If you are newly qualified member of staff, an international recruit or returning to practice we provide a structured AHP Preceptorship programme alongside regular supervision and appraisal as well as opportunities to attend in-service training.
