Job summary

We are looking to recruit a youth support worker to join our vibrant, welcoming and busy #Thrive team. This is a full-time role working with children and families presenting with a range of mental health challenges, and the post offers a breadth of opportunities for you to develop your skills in working with young people. There will be lots of opportunities to work individually and within groups and both independently and alongside other key professionals within the team. We offer a robust supervision structure and development opportunities in terms of psychological therapies training within the trust and opportunities to access specialist training in line with your own and the team's needs.

Nationally recognised service, #Thrive providing a broad spectrum of emotional well-being support to children and families. Other CAMHS-linked services in place include our Perinatal service, Your Trust and the Mental Health Support Team, with other projects also in development.

Main duties of the job

  • Contribute to the community based assessment as well as provide Intervention to young people and their families
  • Support families to offer intervention and care under supervision of mental health practitioners or other #Thrive colleagues
  • Developing ongoing relationships with children and families to promote recovery and resilience.
  • Work intensively with children, young people and those who care for them under supervision of senior staff
  • To assist members of the multi-disciplinary team as required, in the delivery of interventions on an individual and group

  • National Youth Agency accredited Youth Work qualification/Graduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Practice, or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • BA in Youth work or Youth and community work
