Job summary
The purpose of the job is to monitor, audit and report the compliance and quality standards of the environment across Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (PCFT)'s sites. This will involve carrying out cleanliness and environmental audits and writing audit reports. A key element of the audits will relate to cleaning services, as per the standards in the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness (NSoHC) 2021, but the postholder will also be required to carry out audits which include the wider environment across the sites.
To achieve this, the postholder will be required toattend each site as per the NSoHC frequencies to carry out the audits, which include in-patient wards, community clinics and offices. The postholder will ensure all aspects of the standards are kept up-to-date, such as updating the star ratings.
The postholder will also need to write a monthly assurance report for Trust senior management, as the Trust's assurance towards NHS standards and requirements. The postholder will be responsible for creating, distributing and managing action plans following each audit and reporting completion/assurance to the relevance governance meetings alongside any trends. The postholder shall have good communication withsite leads and facilities and estates teams to resolve any areas of concern or failurefor rectification.
Main duties of the job
o To carry out cleanliness audits across Trust sites as per the frequencies set out in the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021. Sites will include inpatient wards and community sites to audit a range of different elements as set in the standards.
o To complete a report following each audit outlining any issues identified
o To manage all actions following the audits by creating, distributing and managing all outstanding, and escalating any issues through the correct escalation process.
o To submit a monthly assurance report for inclusion and discussion at the IPC Committee and Estates Performance Dashboard.
o To advise IPC and/or Quality Matron of any areas of concerns, such a repeated failures.
o To identify any trends in non-conformances to escalate areas of concern requiring additional support and include in reporting.
o To support the rollout of the new electronic auditing system.
o To carry out additional types of audits and reporting within the department as required, such as transport and waste.
