This post would ideally suit those who have previous experience of Psychiatry or Paediatrics, who have an interest in neurodevelopmental conditions and core psychiatry. The post is a part time post for which 4 sessions are available for a fixed term contract of 12 months. The Trust will support any interested appointees with their application for Specialty Training. This post offers an excellent experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Main duties of the job
- Assessment and treatment of ADHD and other core CAMHS conditions in liaison with MDT. Running ADHD diagnostic and follow up clinics under supervision.

- The post holders will not have any out of hours responsibilities.
- The Locum Specialty Doctor will be expected to accumulate their own out-patient load from new referrals and help out with known patients in out-patients, and pick up ongoing patient management through the team as appropriate.
- The Locum Specialty Doctor is expected to contribute to the bio psychosocial model of care with the other members of the multi-disciplinary team. This includes history taking, mental state examination of all patients and the physical examination of outpatients where appropriate. The treatments may be physical, pharmacological, psychological and social as appropriate. CAMHS team offers various psychological therapies such as CBT, family therapy, IPT and DBT.
- There is an on site Duty Consultant every day of the week to support any urgent assessments.
