Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Band 7 CBT pathway lead for Bury CAMHS.

The post holder will be qualified in CBT and CBT supervision or have an interest in pursuing accredited CBT supervision training. The postholder will have experiencing line managing mental health professionals, and will have the following responsibilities:

Main duties of the job

To manage and develop the stepped care, high intensity CAMHS service for this age group (age 5 up to 18 years)

To manage CAMHS clinicians and provide supervision for team members undertaking assessment and a range of interventions / managing caseloads.

To develop and implement therapeutic plans of care for children and young people with mental health needs.

Supporting the service to deliver training and consultation to other children's agencies.

To liaise with other agencies regarding the implementation of care plans and the management of risk for children and young people.

To promote and support mental health awareness in agencies supporting children and young people.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in senior clinical leadership position, have excellent communication skills, welcome a challenge and have a real desire to make a difference to the care we provide to the child and adolescent age group inclusive of evolving models of care and modernisation of mental health services.

You should be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and have a flexible approach.

You must have experience of working and delivering CBT to a wide range of clinical presentations including working in the field and child and adolescent mental health.

The CAMHS Care Hub within Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust has an active and innovative staff development strategy. Working for CAMHS within the trust means that you will access to in house training, such as shadowing staff across different care pathways, accessing training around different evidence based psychological approaches and having opportunities to further your own training needs through a robust CPD policy. Support with accessing trust wide training for managers, including accessing complaints training, interviewing and recruiting staff training and clinical supervision training.

We have a robust supervision policy which ensures that clinical and managerial supervision are delivered by different people for each clinician and we also provide specialist clinical supervision where necessary in order for people to maintain or work towards accreditation in therapeutic modalities where their role requires it.

We are committed to ensuring the psychological wellbeing of our staff as well as our patients and as such have a staff wellbeing strategy in place across the CAMHS Care hub; Bury CAMHS have developed a staff wellbeing plan by staff and for staff working in the team.

Essential

  • Specialist post qualification training in psychological therapy with children and families to at least equivalent of a post graduate diploma level
  • Accreditation with the appropriate accrediting bodies governing the specific modality ( e.g. BABCP, IY)

Desirable

  • additional post graduate qualifications relevant to child mental health Additional accredited training

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience of working with children, adolescents and families presenting with emotional and behavioural difficulties inc family relationship problems
  • Managing a caseload and associated professional activities under supervision and working in MDT setting
  • Experience of providing evidence based psychological therapy to children and adolescents
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision and line management to team members
  • Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner

Desirable

  • Working in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
