Job summary

THIS POST REQUIRES YOU TO HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF WORKING AS A PHYSIOTHERAPIST WITHIN THE NHS

Following significant investment, we are expanding our Allied Health Profession provision across our inpatient mental health services. We have two band 6 physiotherapy posts, one for our North Division (Bury, Rochdale & Oldham) and one for our South Division (Tameside and Stockport) to join our expanding AHP inpatient team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with service users with a range of physiotherapy needs.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the physiotherapists, dietitians and speech and language therapists in the AHP Inpatient team, as well as the ward based multidisciplinary teams including nursing staff, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, pharmacists, advanced practitioners, and peer support workers. Candidates need to share our passion for delivering high quality interventions within a range of inpatient services, including working age adult mental health as well as our services providing inpatient rehabilitation and high support.

You will need to be an autonomous practitioner who is able to prioritise and manage their own physiotherapy caseload, using enhanced clinical reasoning to formulate treatment plans and interventions. You will be responsible for attending MDT meetings and will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based treatment interventions and discharge plans. You will need to be an effective communicator, keen team member and embrace our Trust values of kindness, fairness, ingenuity and determination.

About us

You will be supervised by one of our band 7 clinical lead physiotherapists and we will support you to develop your skills and creativity in this role through separate management and clinical supervision. You will link with our wider physiotherapy workforce through our trust wide physiotherapy forum. We expect candidates to network with other colleagues across the trust and beyond to develop practice and service provision including active membership of physiotherapy networks in mental health. In line with our flexible working policy candidates can be full time or part time and we offer a range of options to support flexibility. Applicants are encouraged to contact us for informal conversations about these roles.
