Job summary
To provide and supervise psychological assessments and evidence-basedtherapies appropriate to a specialist psychological therapy service forveterans of the British Armed Forces. To provide specialist advice,consultation, support and training to other staff working with veterans across Greater Manchester and Lancashire. To proactively support the continuing development of the MVS through increased partnership working with statutory and non-statutory organisations. To provide clinical supervision and to play an active role in service developments and governance within the service as required.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for implementing a range of psychologicalinterventions for veterans, including in groups. Developing and refining formulations across a range of clients and psychological models
- To provide assessments for specialist psychological interventions/individual therapy based on complex data from a variety of sources to veterans referred to the service. Sources of data include:observations, self-report measures, semi-structured interviews withclients, their families and other professionals involved in the client'scare.
- To provide advice, consultation, training and supervision to other team members and other professionals working with veterans to helpimprove client functioning
- To proactively support the continued development of the MVS through increased partnership working with other services.
- To participate in new and innovative service developments within theservice applying sound practice-based knowledge and theoreticalframeworks.

- Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology or statement of Equivalence by BPS and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council OR UKCP registered therapist with core professional qualification e.g. RMN; OT; MHSW and Masters or Doctoral level qualification in psychotherapy. OR BABCP/BACP accredited CBT/therapist with additional training in for example EMDR/DBT
