Job summary

Tameside & Glossop CAMHS are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and qualified Children's Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team to offer assessment and evidence based interventions for children and young people living within the Tameside & Glossop area.

The post holder will be based in the Springleigh Clinic in Stalybridge which operates Monday to Friday within the hours of 9am to 5pm. The post holder will be expected to travel and deliver interventions in the community settings included but not limited to education settings and community centres. Since COVID 19 there has been an enhanced offer of delivering interventions via teletherapy. This will remain part of the role depending on service need.

The successful post holder will be offered specialist clinical supervision (including case management and skills supervision) and separate line management; this is an exciting opportunity for a qualified PWP interested in developing their clinical skills and gaining experience of working in a Thrive aligned service and truly supporting our Getting Help pathway. The role will include an exciting opportunity to support and deliver interventions including Emotional Regulation Group, Worry Warriors and Riding the Rapids groups.

Main duties of the job

Please note that the location of this role covers Tameside & Glossop. CAMHS also offer services covering Stockport, Oldham, Bury, Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale. Tameside and Glossop CAMHS is part of the Pennine Care Mental Health Foundation Trust.

Education / Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualification from PWP Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate or Level 3 undergraduate course) or
  • an experienced and qualified graduate mental health worker with a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Mental Health Care

Desirable

  • Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
  • Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree.
  • Psychology or other health related postgraduate degree
  • BABCP accreditation

Experience

Essential

  • Undergraduate experience
  • Experience of routine outcome monitoring
  • Experience of working in the local community

Desirable

  • Evidence of working in the local community
  • Experience of working as a psychological wellbeing practitioner / graduate mental health worker in a primary care setting

Knowledge

  • Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
