An opportunity has arisen for a Dietitian to join a highly experienced multi-professional health team working with people with learning disabilities in Oldham.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Dietitian to support people with a learning disability who live in Oldham. The post holder will be responsible for a caseload of patients with various ranges of learning disability. You will work as part of the Learning Disability Team to plan effective, tailored advice to patients, parents and carers. This may involve working alone or sometimes with others. There will also be a caseload of Home Enteral Feeds you will be responsible for.The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the lead Dietitian, with regular training, support and supervision provided.

Act as an independent specialist practitioner and be professionally and legally accountable and responsible for all aspects of own work, including a clinical caseload.Work independently to undertake nutritional assessments and calculate nutritional requirements of patients using anthropometry, whilst also taking into account medical, social and cultural factors.Communicate evidence based nutritional and dietary advice in an understandable form.To be jointly responsible with others, to develop dietetic services that will lead to opportunities to improve the health of patients with a Learning Disability.
To act as an autonomous practitioner to provide expert nutritional advice. This might involve seeking advice from peers within, and if appropriate, outside of The Trust.
