Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full-time, Consultant Clinical Psychologist to help further develop, embed and lead the specialist Complex Emotional & Relational Needs (CERN) pathway across the borough of Bury.

A key aspect of this role will be to support the transformation of community mental health services in line with the ambitions of the Long-Term Plan.

There have been exciting developments within the CERN pathway in Bury over the past year, but there are still opportunities for the postholder to come and shape service delivery. You will join a team of structured clinical management (SCM) practitioners, secondary care colleagues, MBT, DBT and DTC service and there are 4 other Consultant Psychologists leading the CERN pathway across the trusts other 4 boroughs- who you will work alongside.

Main duties of the job

  • Take a strategic clinical lead within Bury for policy/ service developments in relation to the provision of services for adults (including older adults) with complex emotional and relational needs and/ or a diagnosis of personality disorder.
  • Provide expert leadership and supervision to a range of MDT colleagues across relevant service areas including inpatients, community and specialist services.
  • Support the Trust Lead for CERN at a GM level and will contribute to the strategic development of services for people with complex emotional and relational needs.
  • Take a lead in the development of multi-agency leadership teams within the locality which will comprise experts by experience, experts by occupation, carers and other stakeholders in order to develop pathways and networks.
  • Work alongside existing networks to develop the service-user involvement schemes for people with CERN within PCFT.
  • Carry a small specialised clinical case load and will take a lead on the development and provision of specific psychotherapeutic programmes for people with CERN including Structured Clinical Management.
