Job summary
Prospect Place is a 45 bedded unit that is based on the site of Birch Hill Hospital In Rochdale.
The Unit is for Men aged 18-65 years, who have a diagnosed Psychotic disorder and require treatment in conditions of low security.
The unit aims to enhance life skills and community functioning, support them to effectively manage risk behaviours, reduce relapses and maximise their independence.
Prospect place is split into 3 separate wards; Engagement and assessment, Recovery and intervention and Social inclusion. The expected pathway for service users is 2 years. Service users typically spend approx. 9 months on each ward.
Main duties of the job
The unit manager is responsible for the management of the clinical environment to ensure that the units provide a high quality service to the service users in their care.
Key Responsibilities of the Post:
- To be responsible for the recruitment, deployment and management of staff.
- To ensure staff undertakes specialist assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care needs of service users in their care
- To lead and be responsible for the clinical management of the unit with service users, who may present with complex behaviours that challenge services
- To allocate and support individuals with delegated work and review progress as agreed. To co-ordinate and monitor the delivery of person centred healthcare, using complex clinical decision making where appropriate
- Management of LSU standards: overseeing security aspects, implementation of standards, monitoring and reporting against NHS England contracting reporting including LSU specific KPIs and CQUINS.
