An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse to join Tameside and Glossop Early Attachment Service.
The Perinatal Infant Mental Health Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse will hold a key role in supporting the delivery of the Early Attachment Service 'Best Start for Life' Perinatal Mental Health and Parent-Infant Relationship support (mild to moderate) offer within Tameside. This will include providing and evaluating, developmental assessments, group and individual interventions, and ongoing support for families and infants under five (with a focus on antenatal to two years old) within the community. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team collaborating widely with many professional colleagues in Health and Local Authority settings to provide high quality care to families across Tameside.

Tameside and Glossop Early Attachment Service is commissioned to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of all infants and young children, up to 5 years of age, in Tameside and Glossop. We have close links with Health Visiting, Family Nurse Partnership, Maternity, Neonatal service, Adult mental health, Perinatal mental health, Social care and the voluntary sector. Our friendly and innovative team offers high-quality therapeutic support, assessment and treatment for families experiencing moderate to severe, complex and/ or enduring difficulties in their early relationships. We use our expertise to help the local workforce to understand and support parent-infant relationships. This may be offered through training, consultation and/or supervision to other professionals to enable a shared understanding and language. Using the THRIVE model we have led the borough in developing integrated perinatal and parent-infant mental health services for parents and children under five. We have received wide recognition for good practice and forward thinking from other professionals and services around the country. The Tameside model is currently being replicated across the other nine boroughs in Greater Manchester. We are committed to supporting our staff in their development with access to CPD opportunities, a robust clinical and management supervision structure, and access to an in-house training programme covering key areas of clinical practice.

To provide practical and emotional support to help parents prepare for the transition into parenthood. To supporting partners, co-parents, siblings, and wider family membersprior to arrival of the baby. To use and understand psychoanalytic and attachment theory and current child development research to support parents with bonding throughpregnancy. To be alert to parents who are a high risk of harm to themselves, others, or their babies and communicate concerns. To be alert to babies whose communication and development suggests acause for concern. To work within the guidance outlined in the Integrated Perinatal Parent-Infant Mental Health Pathway.
