A exciting new opportunity has arisen for a fulltime Parent Peer Support Worker in Stockport Community Core CAMHS.
The successful candidate will be joining our recently expanded dynamic, hardworking, and friendly multi-disciplinary team. This post is also part of CAMHS transformation long term plan. Stockport Community Core CAMHS has been in receipt of new investment, this unique post has been created to add real lived experience to support families and children accessing Stockport CAMHS.
Stockport Community core CAMHS offers a wide range of specialist mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions including family therapy, CBT, IPT-A, EMDR, DBT and psychotherapy for children and young people in Stockport.
The multi-disciplinary team comprises of Mental health practitioners from a variety of professional backgrounds including Consultant psychiatrists, mental health nurses, paediatric nurses, social workers, occupational therapist, speech and language therapists, Clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, together with a large supportive administrative staff.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a member of the Stockport Community and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) multi-disciplinary service.The post holder will provide a range of support for parents/carers who are supporting their child or young person with any kind of emotional or mental health problem.We strongly believe in offering parents and carers support from parents with lived experience of supporting a child or young person at their time of need, supported by professionals.
