Main duties of the job
We are looking for a clinical psychologist committed to these values to join us and work within our crisis support services to bring psychological leadership and approaches to the crisis care pathway and the development and implementation of a brand new, innovative service, the Parachute team.
Parachute team
This innovative development will look to support young people who are admitted to paediatric wards across the Pennine Care footprint who do not meet criteria for an admission to a mental health ward but who's placement (either family or local authority) are in need of further, intensive support. Utilising a psychosocial approach and working with a team of colleagues you will lead a therapeutic response to the system aimed at stabilising the young person's home/placement and therefore ensuring stability for children and young people at a time of real need.
Skills in trauma informed approaches and attachment-based interventions in addition to behavioural and consultative support will be essential for the role.
Crisis Care Pathway
You will bring psychological leadership to the crisis care pathway. Offering supervision and support for colleagues in Rapid Response teams, Home treatment teams, GMAIC and linking with the adolescent inpatient wards psychological therapy teams.
You will bring strategic, psychological thinking to the pathway and join the leadership team to support and develop services in the crisis care pathway.

Education/Qualifications
Essential
- Doctorate level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and child developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS or a BPS. Or a post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) Statement of equivalence.
- Membership of the HCPC
- Additional further training in the use of specific psychometric and/or neuro- psychological assessment tools.
- Training in supervision of qualified and trainee psychologists and other professionals within the MDT
Desirable
- Additional further training and qualifications in a range of therapeutic models (e.g. DBT, DDP, CBT, CAT, psycho- analytic therapies)

- Experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist with demonstrable experience as a highly specialist clinical psychologist with Children and young people and/or their families/carers.
